Which Output Format Should I Publish PDF to Flipping Book?

XFlip Pro page turning software offers flexible output formats for you digital publications, which can be widely used in different occasions.
output format list

You could publish the flip book as HTML, Standalone SWF, EXE, ZIP, APP, and Screensaver by using XFlip flip book software.

  • Publishing as HTML
It's convenient for embedding flipbook on a website by this format, to be viewed online (with title, keywords and other metadata defined). A HTML file and a folder named "files" will be created when you publish as HTML format. You can preview e-book by clicking index.html on output folder. When you are going to upload e-publication to web, you need to upload the whole output folder (includes HTML file and "files" folder) to web server, not a single wrapped HTML file.
In this format, Adobe Flash Player 9.0 or above is needed on reader's computer for playing output flipping book.
  • Publishing as Standalone SWF
Publish it to standalone SWF format for users to upload easily, this will save you a great deal of trouble on uploading many files (SWF is strongly recommended when website can only accept uploading standalone file).
  • Publishing as EXE
It will produce a standalone executable file which allows you view flash flip book without any other software supported on any Windows PC. Executable file is a nice way to deliver your presentation for offline reading.
  • Publishing as ZIP
It will generate a zipped package which allows you to send it to your users by email to be viewed on their computer.
After publishing, there's a pop up window, you could use email function to send it to your recipients. But first of all, you should install email client, like "outlook". Recipient should first unzip the package, and then click index.html on output folder to read. Adobe Flash Player 9.0 or above is also needed.
  • Publishing as APP
This is a standalone executable file for Apple MAC, no additional software is required.
  • Publishing as ScreenSaver
You can publish it as a screensaver and make it ready-to-use.

Which output format should I choose? It depends on your purposes.
If you want to share flipbook on website online reading, there's no doubt that you should choose HTML or SWF.
If you prefer offline reading, all of them support.
If you want to email to others for distributing e-publication, I recommend EXE/APP.
*Kind Remind, most email server reject to delivery emails with EXE/APP file, if you want to send them, please first zip it.

If you want to present your digital magazine in many ways, you also can publish same flipbook with different formats with XFlip digital magazine software.
